Financial Controller – Immediate Start

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established Australian organisation that needs an experienced, hands‑on Financial Controller to lead its finance function during a period of operational focus and financial delivery. This senior leadership position will oversee core finance operations, reporting, and a small but capable team, ensuring accurate financial information and timely insights for senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month‑end close process and the full financial reporting cycle.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results and reporting outputs.
• Review payroll and key finance outputs as part of the close process.
• Prepare and deliver board and management reporting.
• Provide leadership, direction and support to a small finance team.
• Maintain strong financial controls, compliance and process consistency across the function.
• Act as the primary point of contact for finance‑related queries across the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability.
• Comfortable operating in a hands‑on environment while leading a small team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance detail orientation with broader financial oversight.
