Financial Controller (Hybrid) – Sydney

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our BPaaS clients. Based in Sydney with a hybrid work model, you will own the technical standards, client relationships and AI‑driven finance delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Set and enforce technical accounting standards across all client files.
• Review and sign‑off client financial statements before delivery.
• Lead and mentor accounts teams, providing guidance on complex issues.
• Act as the finance voice in senior management and new‑business discussions.
• Develop and manage the AI layer that automates data extraction, reconciliation and reporting.
• Maintain and grow relationships with owners and finance leaders of client businesses.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Demonstrated experience automating finance processes using AI or similar technologies.
• Commercially minded with ability to discuss business performance with owners.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment.

Required skills

• Xero (deep knowledge and ecosystem).
• AI automation tools for finance.
• Project accounting / job costing systems.
