Financial Analyst / Project Cost Controller

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is looking for a Financial Analyst/Project Cost Controller to join its Finance team in Brisbane. You will be responsible for cost control and financial reporting across the Currawong Battlespace Communications System Portfolio, supporting a fast‑paced, innovative aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project budgets and forecasts while building relationships with cost account managers.
• Analyse cost and schedule performance, produce variance analysis and recommend actions to commercial leads.
• Support month‑end close with journals, reconciliations and required reporting.
• Collaborate with a larger finance team, sharing information openly.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, liaising with cost account managers and finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or commerce, or equivalent work experience; studying toward CA/CPA is desirable.
• Relevant experience in management accounting or cost control.
• Proven ability to adapt to changing situations and seek assistance when needed.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using ERP systems for financial processes.
