Financial Analyst

About the role

Western Power is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its commercial finance team on a permanent basis. You will turn complex data into clear business insights that drive strategic decisions and support the transition to renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance core financial reports, ensuring accuracy, transparency and timely delivery.
• Develop budgets and long‑range forecasts that inform strategic planning.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide commercially focused advice.
• Analyse management results, explain variances and identify actionable opportunities.
• Deliver end‑to‑end financial support, including forecasting, budgeting, ad‑hoc analysis and financial modelling.
• Uphold strong reporting controls, clean data and on‑time delivery.
• Identify efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities, automating reporting where possible.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial finance, accounting, reporting or financial analysis.
• Ability to translate numbers into compelling business narratives.
• Strong analytical mindset with evidence‑based decision making.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across all levels.
