Financial Accountant – Mining Operations

About the role

We are looking for a technically strong and detail‑focused Financial Accountant to join our finance team supporting a mining operation. The role offers a blend of transactional finance, reporting, tax, lease accounting and ERP administration, providing broad exposure across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journals, support month‑end close and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare draft annual and interim IFRS reports for non‑public entities and produce cash‑flow statements.
• Support tax compliance, including BAS returns, GST, PAYG, Fuel Tax Credit, Withholding Tax and mining royalty calculations.
• Manage AASB16 lease accounting, asset‑based finance arrangements and fixed‑asset processing (capitalisation, depreciation, disposals).
• Assist the Accounts Payable function, resolve purchase order and goods receipting issues, and monitor GRNI.
• Administer the Pronto Xi ERP system – maintain master data, create projects, run foreign‑exchange revaluations, and resolve system errors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing IFRS statutory reports.
• Knowledge of AASB16 lease accounting and fixed‑asset accounting.
