Financial Accountant

About the role

Mitolo Family Farms is looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role offers a great opportunity for an accountant with 2–3 years of commercial experience who is studying for, or planning to start, a CPA or CA qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end financial accounting tasks, including reconciliations, ledger maintenance, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Prepare accurate end‑of‑month and year‑end financial reports.
• Analyse financial and operational results against budget and forecast.
• Support management decisions by analysing sales, cost of sales and other key operational measures.
• Handle tax and statutory compliance such as BAS, GST, FBT and income tax.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow reporting and external audits.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed‑asset register.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of commercial accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Studying towards, or strong interest in commencing, a CPA or CA qualification.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and practical application of accounting concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet competing deadlines.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a broader finance team.
