Financial Accountant

About the role

Join a well‑established organisation in Brisbane as a Financial Accountant within a large, collaborative finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own month‑end financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of entities and ensure the integrity of financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
• Manage the month‑end close process, delivering accurate and timely reports.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Assist with statutory reporting and year‑end audit requirements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to continuously improve processes and reporting.

Required profile

• CA, ACCA or CPA qualification (or working towards one).
• Previous experience as a Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant.
• Strong month‑end reporting and reconciliation experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and develop.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
