Financial Accountant (Contract)

About the role

Protecht Group is seeking a Financial Accountant for a newly created, 6‑month fixed‑term project in Sydney. You will support core finance functions, including balance‑sheet management, accounts receivable and payable, billing, payroll, and general‑ledger oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheets and general‑ledger accounts.
• Process accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Prepare monthly payroll and billing cycles.
• Support the project team with financial analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a desire to learn and contribute.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
