Finance & Strategy Analyst

About the role

The Finance & Strategy Analyst works in a hybrid capacity, split roughly between financial planning & analysis and strategic projects. Based in Melbourne, the role partners closely with the Head of Strategy, Financial Controller, CFO and the Commercial team to drive forecasting, pricing, M&A assessment and AI‑enabled process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Build, own and continuously improve financial models for forecasting, pricing and planning, ensuring they are well‑documented, version‑controlled and audit‑ready.
• Run the monthly forecasting process, own the annual budget and 3‑year plan, and maintain a rolling reforecast with variance targets of ≤3% on revenue and EBITDA.
• Prepare concise Board and executive reporting packs, translating complex analysis into actionable narratives.
• Partner with the Commercial team on pricing decisions, enterprise deal costings and revenue forecasts.
• Provide financial modelling and analytical support for M&A activities, market sizing and synergy assessments.
• Identify and implement AI‑driven improvements to accelerate month‑end close and enhance analytical depth.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking or strategy consulting with a finance focus.
• Strong financial modelling ability, producing models that can be audited and reused.
• Excellent PowerPoint storytelling skills to create clear executive and Board narratives.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and solid understanding of P&L drivers.
• Comfortable presenting financial results and trends to senior leadership.
• Genuine interest in leveraging AI tools to improve finance processes.
