Finance Officer

About the role

Join a dynamic finance team supporting remote First Nations communities in the Northern Territory. Working under an Accountant in an ERP environment, you will handle high‑volume accounts processing with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end electronic accounts receivable and payable for the assigned business area.
• Perform transactional cash‑management tasks, including regular bank reconciliations.
• Drive active debtor management through phone contact, written communication, and internal reporting.
• Compile data for timely monthly and quarterly BAS and PAYG submissions.
• Support internal and external stakeholders with finance queries, troubleshooting, and system familiarisation.
• Participate in telephone overflow roster and provide reception relief as needed.
• Provide proactive input to continuously improve internal financial systems and processes.

Required profile

• Highly analytical and detail‑oriented finance professional.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to cross‑cultural environments.
• Proven experience in electronic accounting, finance, or data‑processing roles.
• Hands‑on experience with electronic accounts processing software.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly desirable.
• Experience living or working in the Northern Territory is beneficial.
