Finance Officer – Aboriginal Community Health Service

About the role

The Finance Officer supports an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in delivering culturally appropriate health services. The role involves day‑to‑day financial, payroll and administrative support to ensure smooth operation of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll efficiently and accurately.
• Manage payments to suppliers and ensure timely ordering of official supplies.
• Allocate bank receipts and maintain cash floats, banking as required.
• Oversee the Patient Transport Scheme bookings and maintain stationery supplies.
• Assist with motor vehicle fleet management and upkeep of office machinery.
• Maintain a clean and orderly office environment.
• Liaise with senior management, clinical leaders, accreditation bodies, funding agencies and other ACCHOs.

Required profile

• Current driver’s licence with no restrictions and willingness to travel long distances, including occasional overnight trips.
• Fully vaccinated as per health service regulations.
• Ability to communicate empathetically with Aboriginal people and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Effective oral and written communication, capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.
