Finance Officer – Aboriginal Community Health Service

About the role

The Finance Officer will support an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering primary health care, mental health and social support in Port Augusta. The role ensures financial processes run smoothly and supports the organisation’s commitment to culturally appropriate services.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll and manage day‑to‑day finance and administration tasks.
• Allocate bank receipts, place official orders and maintain cash floats.
• Oversee patient transport scheme bookings and maintain stationery supplies.
• Manage motor vehicle fleet and office machinery maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and orderly office environment and liaise with external agencies.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate empathetically with Aboriginal people and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Effective oral and written communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Current driver’s licence, willingness to travel (including overnight) and be fully vaccinated.
• Clear criminal record check and willingness to undergo regular background renewals.
