Finance Manager

About the role

The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, is seeking a detail‑oriented Finance Manager to support its financial operations. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate records, compliance, and timely reporting within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial operations, ensuring compliance with Marriott International policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Prepare month‑end journals, reconciliations, balance‑sheet reviews and financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll compliance, fixed assets, cash‑flow forecasting and working‑capital controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis to achieve business objectives.
• Oversee GST, payroll tax, FBT, withholding tax and assist with internal, external and regulatory audits.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insights, cost‑saving opportunities and process efficiencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, finance or bookkeeping.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (or currently studying).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and analytical problem‑solving.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Full Australian working rights.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems.
• Familiarity with Peoplesoft Systems (highly regarded).
