Finance Manager - Financial Services

About the role

Mars Recruitment is recruiting a Finance Manager for a growing financial services business based in Sydney. This is a newly created role for an experienced Senior Accountant to step up and take ownership of an allocated part of the business, partnering closely with senior leadership while leading a dedicated offshore finance team. As the business scales, the role covers financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, pricing, finance operations and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate management reporting and analysis to support business performance and decision-making
• Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis for the allocated area of the business
• Analyse pricing, margins and financial performance to optimise commercial outcomes
• Build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to strategic initiatives supporting business growth
• Manage day-to-day finance activities including settlements, funding, drawdowns, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and financial administration
• Improve finance processes, reporting, controls and the use of data
• Manage, coach and develop the offshore finance team

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with 6+ years' experience, ideally starting in a chartered firm in a Business Services or Audit function
• Experience in financial services or non-bank lending preferred, but strong candidates from business services or commercial finance backgrounds will be considered
• Experience managing, coaching or developing a finance team
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing SME environment
• Citizen, permanent resident or holder of long-term working rights in Australia
• Hybrid model of 3 days in the Sydney CBD office

• Technical accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Ability to analyse financial performance and support pricing decisions
• Communication and stakeholder management skills

What we offer

• Salary of AU$140,000 - AU$160,000 per annum plus superannuation and bonus
