FIFO Survey Manager - Major Projects

About the role

Bennett + Bennett, a surveying, town planning and spatial solutions firm established in 1968, is looking for an experienced FIFO Survey Manager for its Major Projects Division. The team has 50 years of combined surveying experience on major projects across Australia, and the manager will help drive operations, business development and project delivery. The management team is based in Toowoomba, and candidates can be based in the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane or Gold Coast offices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project resources, timelines, budgets and stakeholder relationships to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Work with project teams, clients and internal business units to integrate processes, technologies and training.
• Coordinate SEQ-based staff across Toowoomba and FIFO/DIDO operations, including Snowy 2.0 and Coal Seam Gas projects, and work with other Survey Managers in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
• Oversee workforce rostering, travel arrangements and logistical planning for employees on major project sites.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to survey staff.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities and review the performance of project teams, helping Site Survey Managers improve delivery.
• Occasionally make site visits to remote projects.

Required profile

• Certificate, Diploma, Associate or Bachelor degree in Surveying; registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland or another state or territory is preferred.
• Proven senior surveying experience with advanced 12d skills; civil construction and remote project experience highly regarded.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a solution-focused, detail-oriented approach.
• Based in the east coast of Australia.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 12d software, Trimble Business Centre, Starnet and 3DR.
• Use of survey and scanning equipment.
