Field Technician / Engineer – Marine Systems

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Field Technician / Engineer to join its Platform / Marine systems team in Henderson. You will apply your engineering expertise to deliver engineering and waterfront support for the operation and maintenance of vessels and their supporting systems. The role suits engineers with a background in electrical, mechanical or naval architecture, and those with a trade qualification in an engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and review technical responses to problem identification reports for the production teams
• Analyse, design, develop and prepare technical instructions
• Conduct maintenance and defect investigations and analysis
• Develop TM200s for urgent defect rectification

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance
• An accredited (Washington Accord) bachelor's degree in engineering
• Previous experience in a similar role involving design, operation or maintenance of complex or large vessels is desirable but not essential
• Ability to analyse variance requests and strong written and verbal communication skills
