Field Technical Specialist - Electrophysiology

About the role

Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business is recruiting a Field Technical Specialist in Macquarie Park, Australia. The role supports 3D mapping cases and works closely with Territory Managers, hospital staff and key opinion leaders. About 20% of the time involves travel.

Key responsibilities

• Complete pre-course reading and online training for mapping, attend didactic training and exams, and achieve EP 3D mapping certification through in-house training.
• Operate the EnSiteX 3D Mapping system independently during ablation procedures, from simple to complex arrhythmias, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Work independently as a mapper, aim for C mapper sign-off and continue training to B mapper and, where appropriate, A mapper.
• Provide troubleshooting support for the Claris recording system and run it independently when needed.
• Develop understanding of Power BI and Gem data entry, and undertake sales skills training.
• Build relationships with KOLs and cardiac catheter lab staff, deliver education and training to hospital staff, and identify customer needs for the Territory Manager.
• Maintain product knowledge through internal and external training, assist colleagues with mapping development, help with product marketing and launches, give market feedback, and comply with customer service and administrative requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Science, Human Movement or a related field (Coronary Care Nursing/Cardiac Technician).
• Cardiac training and working knowledge of ECGs and cardiac monitoring.
