Field Support Technician

About the role

Axis Mining Technology, part of Orica Digital Services, is looking for a Field Support Technician to join its AusPac Regional Operations team at the Kalgoorlie Service Centre. This is an entry-level, residential role focused initially on office and warehouse work, with full training provided. As you gain experience, the role expands to include remote technical support, customer support and on-site field support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage driller-operable technology fleets and cloud-based data flow systems
• Clean, inspect, test and calibrate returned equipment so it is ready for redeployment
• Support warehouse and logistics activities, including rental kit preparation and equipment tracking
• Prepare calibration certificates and delivery notes, complete damage reports, and manage asset records
• Progress to office-based remote technical support, customer support and troubleshooting, and on-site client training and field support, including travel to remote sites once fully trained

Required profile

• Early-career candidate; specialist experience is not required because comprehensive training is provided
• Genuine interest in technology, equipment and mining operations
• Willingness to learn technical systems, tools and processes, including drillhole survey equipment and data workflows
• Practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
• Good communication skills, a positive team attitude and willingness to travel to remote sites later
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures and contribute to a well-organised service centre
