Field Supervisor - QLD

About the role

DDH1 Drilling, an exploration drilling company serving the mining industry, is looking for a Field Supervisor in Queensland. You will link several internal departments together and communicate with client representatives and geologists, using your drilling knowledge to help maximise production and core recovery safely. This is a field-based FIFO role.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure duty of care is exercised in your own work and by all personnel under your control
• Maintain compliance with HSE regulations, site-specific rules and applicable acts across varying site operations
• Help train trainee drillers and drillers' offsiders in safe working procedures and equipment care
• Understand the drilling program and liaise with the client to ensure its successful completion
• Apply sound management practices and give direction, leadership and support to drilling and maintenance under your control
• Promote the company positively and maintain a high standard of personal presentation and conduct, including for field crews

Required profile

• 7 to 10 years of experience in multi-purpose drilling
• Cert IV in Drilling Operations
• Current heavy rigid driver's licence, current national police clearance and fatigue management training
• ICAM or equivalent WHS incident investigation training
• Current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent
• Willingness to travel to remote project sites and to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Required skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of the Mines Safety Act and Regulations and the WHS Act
