Field Service Representative - Defence Aviation

About the role

A highly autonomous Field Service Representative position at RAAF Base Amberley, offering specialist maintenance and troubleshooting support to Defence aviation maintenance organisations. The role works closely with Defence customers, industry partners and Northrop Grumman colleagues to maximise aircraft availability, serviceability and operational readiness. It suits an experienced aviation professional who wants to broaden their impact beyond traditional maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical advice and troubleshooting support to maintenance teams
• Participate in a 24/7 AOG support roster
• Deliver mentoring and technical training to maintenance personnel
• Support aircraft maintenance activities at base and deployed locations
• Partner with Defence, OEM and industry stakeholders to resolve technical issues
• Develop practical solutions to improve aircraft availability and reliability
• Contribute to technical instructions, maintenance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor

Required profile

• Extensive aviation maintenance troubleshooting experience in operational aircraft environments
• Minimum 5 years' experience as certifying maintenance staff
• Demonstrated knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR)
• Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Defence and aviation access requirements, including ASIC accreditation
• Australian citizenship required; international traffic in arms regulations apply
