Facilities Technician – Student Accommodation

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Facilities Technician to join the Facilities and Maintenance team at Accolade on Gray St, a leading student accommodation in Adelaide. You will ensure the building runs smoothly and residents are satisfied.

Key responsibilities

• Tackle maintenance requests and repairs across apartments and shared spaces.
• Prepare rooms for new residents, handling quick fixes and final checks.
• Maintain lighting, safety systems, and overall building upkeep.
• Log maintenance and safety checks in our tracking system.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers on‑site.
• Provide friendly assistance to residents when issues arise.
• Participate in an on‑call roster for after‑hours support.

Required profile

• Solid practical skills with a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Some experience in maintenance, facilities, or a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or painting.
• Ability to lift up to 12 kg, climb ladders and stay on your feet throughout the day.
• Good grasp of safety basics, including manual handling and chemical safety.
• Comfortable using tools, technology and working as part of a team.
