Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

Slade Health is a provider of sterile compounding services with TGA-licensed manufacturing facilities across Australia and New Zealand, producing aseptically compounded pharmaceutical products such as chemotherapy, analgesic, nutrition and antibiotic drugs for hospital patients. It is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator for a permanent full-time role at its Sydney site. The position carries overall responsibility for managing and coordinating all site-based preventative and breakdown maintenance programs so the sterile manufacturing facility stays operational and compliant, with a strong focus on quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee building management, mechanical, electrical, fire, security and environmental monitoring systems, and oversee ongoing certification and calibration of equipment and facility in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all engineering activities follow the Quality Management System, regulations and policies.
• Manage general facility and systems, and maintain the plant and equipment register.
• Plan, organise, schedule and supervise contractors carrying out preventative maintenance, certifications and calibrations.
• Diagnose and attend to breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime, and handle day-to-day ad hoc repairs.
• Identify improvement opportunities to boost productivity and attend to out-of-hours excursions or equipment faults.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in a technical field, including but not limited to mechanical or electrical.
• 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in pharmaceutical sterile manufacturing.
• Knowledge of cleanrooms, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Experience in change management, quality risk management and good documentation practices.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, and advanced computer literacy with sound keyboarding skills.
• Flexibility to schedule maintenance around operational hours and to attend out-of-hours work; working days include Saturdays as a standard day.
