About the role
The Facilities Maintainer – Fitter is a key member of a multi‑skilled team responsible for the upkeep of mechanical and infrastructure systems at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap.
Key responsibilities
- Perform technical repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, ducting, pumps, blowers, power generation, fuel and water systems.
- Manage unscheduled breakdowns, plan shutdown maintenance, and coordinate resources, scheduling and training.
Required profile
- Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter and Turner) – essential.
- Minimum 4 years post‑trade experience, preferably with diesel power generation and plant maintenance in mine or remote sites.
Required skills
- Mechanical fitting and turning.
- HVAC and ducting maintenance.
- Pump and blower servicing.
- Diesel generator and power‑generation equipment.
- Fuel and water system maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans.
