Facade Design Manager

About the role

Supplyhaus is seeking a Facade Design Manager to lead design delivery across multiple commercial and large‑scale multi‑residential façade projects in Queensland. You will manage a team of design coordinators, drafters and offshore document controllers, ensuring high‑quality shop drawing packages are delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the design team, forecasting workload and allocating resources to meet project programmes.
• Manage internal drafting capacity and engage external resources, retaining accountability for quality and programme delivery.
• Deliver coordinated, accurate and buildable shop drawing packages ready for procurement, fabrication and installation.
• Ensure documentation complies with project specifications, Australian Standards and engineering requirements.
• Select, engage and coordinate independent structural, thermal and acoustic façade engineering consultants.
• Work closely with project managers, clients and consultants to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
• Set realistic delivery expectations and communicate proactively about risks or programme impacts.
• Drive continuous improvement within the glazing design function, reducing rework and improving outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive design experience in commercial or large‑scale multi‑residential façade industry.
• Proven leadership of design teams within façade, glazing or building products environments.
• Thorough understanding of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards (AS2047, AS1288, AS1170, Section J).
• Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent relationship management and communication with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Calm, decisive and solutions‑focused under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
• Experience with HiCAD or other 3D modelling platforms (desirable).
• Technical knowledge of façade systems, curtain wall and commercial glazing solutions.
