Exploration Geologist (Gold Systems)

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Geologist: Exploration, you will join a team that advances exploration targets from early-stage projects through to resource definition drilling and handover to production. The work covers a wide range of deposit styles, host lithologies and structural complexities, offering varied experience for someone early in their career. The roster is 8 days on, 6 days off, either residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie or fly-in fly-out from Perth; bus transport is offered to and from site for residential candidates and relocation assistance is offered if required.

Key responsibilities

• Extensive fieldwork, including working remotely and independently on drill rigs to complete drill programs efficiently
• Geological and structural logging of diamond core and RC/AC chips
• Updating sections and maps with drilling information
• Digital entry and validation of logging data
• Sample selection for analysis, QA/QC planning and evaluation
• Daily liaison with the drill contractor, tracking drilling and sample dispatch
• Using geological and geophysical datasets to interpret drilling results

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Geology (honours preferred)
• Previous exploration experience in orogenic gold systems highly desirable
• Valid manual driver's licence
• Self-driven and motivated to learn new skills and grow professionally

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Exposure to GIS, database and 3D software highly regarded
