Experienced ICU Registered Nurse

About the role

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse (Year 3 - 8) for its Level 6 Intensive Care Unit, a fast-paced, high-acuity unit offering cardiac surgery, a Level 2 Trauma Service and statewide ECMO and Heart & Lung Transplantation services. The position is permanent and full time, based in Darlinghurst.

Key responsibilities

• Care for critically ill patients and their families in a 1:1 or 2:1 nurse-to-patient setting
• Work across a broad clinical mix including General, Neuro, Trauma, Cardiothoracic and Transplantation
• Use state-of-the-art equipment, advanced monitoring systems and medical technology
• Take part in ongoing education and specialised training programs

Required profile

• Registered with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
• 2+ years' experience in intensive care nursing and caring for sedated, ventilated patients
• Proven ability to prioritise competing workloads in a complex environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development
• Great teamwork and communication skills
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or an Australia visa granting work rights for the role (visa sponsorship is not available)
