Executive General Manager – Supply Chain

About the role

The organisation, a 20‑year‑old Australian business, is seeking an Executive General Manager – Supply Chain to lead end‑to‑end operations from the Melbourne head office. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior role will shape strategy, optimise the network and drive performance across all supply‑chain functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supply‑chain activities across all states, warehouses and hubs to ensure on‑time, safe, high‑quality product delivery while optimising inventory.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction and delivery‑performance improvement opportunities.
• Manage planning, inventory control, volume growth, cost and price variance.
• Oversee a cross‑functional team covering planning/procurement, engineering, warehouse & logistics, quality & safety to meet KPI and productivity targets.
• Collaborate with external partners, customers, senior leaders and suppliers to enhance product availability and launch new initiatives.
• Prepare strategic reports, annual budgets and variance analyses for the function.
• Develop and manage a capital‑expenditure programme aligned with the business’s strategic plan.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level supply‑chain leadership experience, including managing diverse and remote teams.
• Proven track record of improving performance and reducing costs.
• Tertiary qualification in business or a related field.
• Experience in sectors such as automotive, building products, consumer products or FMCG.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the full supply‑chain cycle from supplier to customer.
