Executive Coordinator

About the role

The Executive Coordinator provides high‑level confidential executive, administrative, project and governance support to the Executive Director and three Directors within Youth Justice. This full‑time, permanent position is based in Melbourne and offers a competitive VPS4 salary package.

Key responsibilities

• Manage diaries, coordinate meetings and prepare briefs, correspondence, presentations and reports for senior executives.
• Provide secretariat support and coordinate priority and ad‑hoc business matters across Policy, Strategy and Performance.
• Support projects and initiatives covering finance, procurement, HR, corporate systems and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with support staff in the Youth Justice Commissioner’s office and other senior executive offices to ensure appropriate information flow.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering high‑level executive support in a government or similarly complex environment.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks accurately and discreetly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a close‑knit team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Department of Justice and Community Safety systems such as TRIM, Oracle and EBC.
• Advanced diary and meeting management, document preparation and project coordination capabilities.
