About the role
Join Thiess as an Excavator Operator on the Production Mining Team, working on challenging and varied tasks in an open‑cut mining environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a Hitachi EX3600 excavator efficiently and safely, complying with all Thiess policies.
- Excavate to design boundaries, maintain floor levels, and minimise dilution while meeting design tolerances.
- Perform pre‑start checks, maintain high housekeeping standards, and load dump trucks in a production setting.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a mining production excavator operator.
- Proven track record of health and safety compliance.
- Valid HR driver’s licence (desirable).
Required skills
- Operation of Hitachi EX3600 excavator.
- Loading dump trucks in a mining production environment.
- Understanding of ore mark‑ups, pit configuration, bench mining and batter cutting.
