Excavator Operator - Civil Infrastructure, Sewer & Water Mains

About the role

A civil construction firm in northern Adelaide is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to carry out precise trenching and deep excavation on underground infrastructure works such as sewer and water mains. The work uses 25 to 30-tonne excavators with experienced crews, new machinery and no regular weekend requirement. The position is casual and ongoing, open to work visas, with typical daytime hours (7am to 5pm) and occasional night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators, generally between 25 and 30 tonnes, safely and accurately.
• Carry out deep excavation and trenching for sewer, water mains and pipeline installations.
• Work with civil crews to deliver underground infrastructure projects to specification.
• Follow site plans and job requirements with attention to detail.
• Be ready to work occasional night shifts when project needs arise.

Required profile

• Proven track record operating excavators from 8 to 36 tonnes in civil construction.
• Competence in deep trenching and civil infrastructure excavation.
• Ability to work in multi-person civil crews.
• Appropriate work authorisation for Australia.
