ESI Trainer & Assessor – Industry Skills

About the role

Aurecon’s Industry Skills Practice is expanding and seeks an experienced ESI Trainer & Assessor to join the team in Sydney. The role involves delivering high‑quality technical training and assessment for our ASQA‑accredited Registered Training Organisation, supporting clients across the electricity supply industry.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a range of ESI technical training for our ASQA‑accredited Registered Training Organisation, covering enterprise, industry, mandatory and refresher courses.
• Conduct training and assessment of students using blended, face‑to‑face and e‑learning delivery methods, tailored to client specifications and delivered on‑site.
• Deliver national units of competency, with a focus on refresher units from the UET training package, ensuring alignment with national standards.
• Ensure all training and assessment activities comply with relevant RTO, client, industry and regulatory requirements, maintaining quality and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• People‑oriented, reliable and able to thrive in collaborative, fast‑paced environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience as an ESI worker, such as cable jointer, lineworker, substation technician, live line worker or switching operator (qualification preferred).
• Evidence of active enrolment in or holding a vocational training qualification (TAE40122 Cert IV TAE or equivalent) together with all required licences and documentation, including police check, working with children, high‑risk and driver’s licences.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver ESI technical training programmes.
• Familiarity with the UET training package and ASQA accreditation requirements.
