English‑Portuguese Interpreter for Construction Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a fluent English‑Portuguese interpreter to support crews on the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone transmission project. You will ensure clear communication of safety briefings, work instructions and daily interactions on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret between English and Portuguese during toolbox talks, pre‑start meetings and day‑to‑day work.
• Translate safety notices, procedures and work instructions for Portuguese‑speaking crew members.
• Support supervisors and crew leaders in communicating with Portuguese‑speaking staff.
• Attend site inductions, training sessions and safety briefings to provide real‑time interpretation.
• Identify and flag potential communication gaps before they become safety issues.
• Build trust with crews so they feel comfortable asking questions or raising concerns.

Required profile

• Fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese.
• Previous experience in a construction, industrial or other high‑risk environment (highly regarded).
• Construction Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to stay calm and accurate when interpreting under pressure.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Construction Induction (White Card) certification.
