Canberra Grammar School is seeking an experienced and engaging English Language and Literature Teacher for Years 7–12. The role involves inspiring curiosity, critical thinking and confident expression across the Australian Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess English Language and Literature curriculum for Years 7–12, including IB MYP components.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, professional learning and sharing best practice.
• Provide pastoral care, support co‑curricular activities and contribute to the broader life of the school.

Required profile

• Qualified educator with strong expertise in English Language and Literature.
• Demonstrated record of outstanding teaching practice that engages and challenges students.
• Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare and the school’s pastoral care programme.

Required skills

• Ability to teach English effectively across Years 7–12, adapting to diverse learning needs.
• Experience with the Australian Curriculum or willingness to develop this expertise.
• Willingness to undertake training for relevant HSC and/or IB programmes.
