Engineering / Design Manager

About the role

As an Engineering / Design Manager in Aurecon’s Industrial Mechanical team, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering and design activities from concept through delivery. Based in Perth, you will work closely with project managers, clients and contractors to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes that make a real difference.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design activities from concept to delivery.
• Manage engineering interfaces, priorities and deliverables to ensure safe, timely, high‑quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, clients, contractors and delivery partners.
• Drive safety‑in‑design, technical assurance, engineering governance and design review processes.
• Resolve design issues, manage technical risks, engineering changes and project constraints.
• Build trusted client relationships and maintain clear project communication.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification, ideally Mechanical Engineering (broader backgrounds considered).
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and design on complex projects.
• Project delivery focus with ability to manage interfaces, priorities, risks and technical outcomes.
• Knowledge of safety‑in‑design, technical assurance and engineering governance.
• Strong client engagement, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Collaborative, practical approach to problem‑solving and delivering impactful outcomes.
