Engineering Business Manager - Mining

About the role

The Engineering Business Manager – Mining will lead specification‑driven growth for Solmax across the Australian mining sector. You will work closely with civil, geotechnical and mining engineers to embed geosynthetic solutions at the design stage, positioning them as essential components of mine infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with civil and geotechnical consultants, mining engineers, asset owners and key contractors.
• Influence design specifications, scopes and engineering standards to integrate Solmax geosynthetics early in project lifecycles.
• Provide advanced technical guidance for Tailings Storage Facilities, heap leach pads, evaporation ponds, water‑management structures and haul roads.
• Deliver value‑engineering solutions that improve cost, constructability and performance.
• Develop and manage a mining project pipeline across Australia, converting specifications into revenue opportunities.
• Establish Solmax as a trusted engineering partner for Tier 1 mining companies and engineering consultancies.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to inform product development and market strategy.

Required profile

• Strong technical credibility in civil, geotechnical or mining engineering.
• Proven ability to engage early in project design phases and influence engineering outcomes.
• Excellent commercial acumen with a track record of driving specification‑based sales.
• Ability to build strategic relationships at both technical and decision‑making levels.
• Experience delivering technical presentations and workshops to consultants and owners.
