Energy Advisory Leader – Transactions

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an Energy Advisory Leader – Transactions to shape the firm’s national advisory capability at a pivotal moment for Australia’s energy market. You will work with clients making complex investment, financing and asset decisions, turning technical insight into bankable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑value energy advisory and transaction engagements, focusing on strategic advice, technical due diligence, and risk/opportunity assessment.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, investors, developers, utilities and major energy users throughout the energy transition.
• Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling advice for debt and equity providers, offtakers and other stakeholders.
• Partner with Energy and Infrastructure Advisory leaders and engineering specialists to deliver front‑end advisory work and expand client relationships.
• Develop future leaders and build enduring capability across the advisory practice.
• Work nationally and flexibly across teams, markets and locations to grow a capability that reflects the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition.

Required profile

• Deep energy‑sector expertise across transactions, energy economics, grid, renewables and investment advisory.
• Proven track record advising on energy assets, investment decisions, asset performance, risk and market‑facing advisory work.
• Ability to combine technical depth with commercial judgement to provide practical insight for senior decision‑makers.
• Executive‑level communication skills, presenting complex findings simply and persuasively.
• Visible market presence, relevant relationships and strong client instincts to originate and win advisory opportunities.
• Collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring and developing others.
