Employment Tax Manager or Senior Manager

About the role

EY is hiring an Employment Tax Manager or Senior Manager to lead a team of specialists and advise clients on employment tax matters. The role covers Australian-based and multinational clients across the country, including large corporates and a wide range of industries. It is a hybrid position based in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Sydney, and can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a national management team, guide junior staff across Australia, manage large multi-stakeholder projects and act as the key client contact.
• Advise clients on employment tax, including Payroll Tax, PAYG Withholding, Superannuation Guarantee, FBT, Termination Payments and Salary Packaging, and review key deliverables such as FBT and payroll tax returns.
• Use technology and big data to support compliance and generate insights, liaise with clients and regulatory bodies, and deliver training seminars to clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• Over 5 years of employment tax compliance and consulting experience with large multinational organisations.
• Strong commitment to excellence in client service.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Data analytics capability and confidence handling complex datasets.
• Experience automating tax processes is desirable but not essential.
