Employee Relations Specialist – Projects & Proactive Compliance

About the role

We are partnering with an iconic Australian business to create a newly‑shaped role for an Employee Relations specialist who loves the strategic side of ER. This position focuses on proactive compliance, projects and risk foresight rather than reactive case management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the proactive compliance plan for the Group, monitor external landscape (psychosocial risk, positive duty, legislative changes) and recommend next steps.
• Lead strategic ER projects that bring structure, delivery rigour and consistency to complex compliance work.
• Build tools, policies and leader‑guidance materials that make ER risk easier to manage at scale.
• Use ER themes and case data to anticipate emerging issues and shape the evolution of practice.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in employee relations, beyond hands‑on case management.
• Project‑oriented mindset with ability to structure and follow‑through on complex initiatives.
• Compliance focus that identifies risk early and works upstream.
• Energy to improve the function, not just maintain it.
• NZ experience considered a valuable asset.
