Emergency Veterinarian – Exciting 24‑hr Critical Care Role

About the role

Join CARE, a multidisciplinary emergency and critical care hospital in Collingwood, Melbourne, as an experienced Emergency Veterinarian. You will manage primary and referred cases in a fast‑paced 24‑hour environment, working alongside specialist teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care treatment for primary accession and referred patients.
• Share care of hospitalised patients, including ICU cases, collaborating with surgery, internal medicine and other specialists.
• Participate in case discussions, on‑the‑job training and continuous education sessions.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent with registration in Victoria.
• Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is desirable; strong attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
• Commitment to teamwork, communication and high‑quality compassionate care.

Required skills

• Emergency veterinary medicine and critical care management.
• Routine and emergency surgical techniques.
• Proficiency with imaging modalities (CT, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound) and ICU equipment (ventilators, high‑flow nasal oxygen).
