Emergency Department Registrar (Full/Part Time)

About the role

The Emergency Department at Grampians Health – Ballarat Campus is seeking motivated Registrars to join a high‑volume, teaching‑focused service. The role offers exposure to a 19‑bed main ED, a fast‑track paediatric area, a short‑stay unit and dedicated resuscitation bays, with rotations through ICU, anaesthetics and other specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute medical assessment and management for adult and paediatric presentations.
• Participate in resuscitation, fast‑track and short‑stay unit workflows.
• Engage in multidisciplinary Morbidity & Mortality meetings and weekly teaching sessions.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure safe patient handover and continuity of care.
• Contribute to the training environment for junior doctors and medical students.

Required profile

• General Registration with AHPRA.
• Eligibility for or progress towards ACEM registration.
• Strong team orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and collaborative practice.

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support (ALS2) certification.
• Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
