Electrician – FIFO

About the role

The Electrician is a key member of a multi‑skilled team responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure and critical systems on a FIFO 2‑week on/off roster (0600‑1800). The role involves planning, coordination, troubleshooting and continuous improvement to ensure reliable operation of electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair facility electrical infrastructure, systems and equipment.
• Respond rapidly to abnormal situations and emergencies, performing repairs as needed.
• Update technical drawings, panel schedules and operating procedures.
• Install new electrical equipment and infrastructure per requests.
• Complete job documentation such as work orders, timesheets and safety reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years post‑trade experience in facility maintenance or a similar technical environment.
• Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act and EHS policies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret or Australian NV1 security clearance (higher clearance may be required).
• Medically fit to perform moderate to heavy physical tasks and work in uneven or cramped environments.

Required skills

• Australian "A" Grade Electrical License (or U.S. Journeyman’s/Contractor’s License).
• Knowledge of 110V systems, high‑voltage, power generation and distribution.
• Familiarity with industrial control circuits and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Experience with SAP (ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance practices.
