Electrical Technical Officer/Designer

About the role

As an Electrical Technical Officer/Designer in Egis Group’s Distribution Design team, you will deliver detailed design and documentation for Victorian electricity networks, covering low‑voltage, high‑voltage and sub‑transmission (up to 66 kV) lines.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake design and drafting quality‑assurance reviews and approve standard designs and drawings.
• Own small‑ to medium‑scale line design projects, producing tender and design documentation within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Plan and manage project resources, act as liaison with clients, and prepare project status reports.
• Manage financial performance of projects and ensure compliance with safety‑in‑design standards.
• Operate autonomously on site, mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to bid and tender preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing overhead and underground electricity lines (LV, HV, sub‑transmission up to 66 kV).
• Ability to manage project phases, resources and budgets.
• Strong technical leadership with experience training and guiding junior engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client reporting and liaison.
