Electrical TAFE Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent)

About the role

CQUniversity is seeking an experienced electrical trades professional to join its School of Trades as a TAFE Teacher. You will deliver the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician), mentor apprentices and guide the next generation of electricians in both workshop and classroom settings.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess students on electrical selection, installation, testing, fault finding, repair and maintenance.
• Prepare lesson plans, marking, and provide ongoing student support.
• Follow the VET workload model, delivering up to 22 hrs of teaching per week with flexible start/finish times.
• Maintain accurate assessment documentation and comply with ASQA requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent).
• Queensland Electrical Licence or ability to obtain one.
• Current hands‑on industry experience in installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing, commissioning or industrial environments.
• Strong interest in mentoring apprentices and supporting learners.
• Willingness to work in a structured teaching environment; prior teaching experience not required.

What we offer

• Starting salary $107,697 per year (approximately $56.93 hr) plus 17 % superannuation.
