Electrical Linesworker – Linesperson (Transmission)

About the role

The Linesperson (B6) will join Acciona Construction Australia to install, repair and maintain high‑voltage transmission networks across the Central West Orana and HumeLink East projects. You will work on both overhead and underground systems up to 500 kV, ensuring reliable power delivery for renewable energy zones.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret technical drawings, line diagrams and maps to plan work.
• Install, maintain and repair overhead conductors, underground cables, towers, poles and associated hardware.
• Operate plant and equipment, climb poles/towers or work from elevated work platforms (EWP).
• Work on a variety of structure types for transmission lines at voltages up to 500 kV.

Required profile

• AQF Certificate III in ESI Transmission Overhead (or equivalent) or at least three years full‑time experience in transmission line construction.
• Certificate II in ESI Transmission and 3–5 years demonstrated experience in overhead and underground line installation, repair and maintenance.
• Strong safety record, valid NSW driver’s licence and White Card (OH&S Construction Safety Induction).
• Current National Police Clearance and high‑risk work licences (EWP, rigging, tower rescue). CPR and Senior First Aid are desirable.

Required skills

• Installation and maintenance of high‑voltage overhead and underground transmission lines.
• Operation of plant and specialised equipment for line work.
• Use of elevated work platforms, rigging and tower rescue techniques.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and network diagrams.
