Electrical Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing Sydney team. You will price a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects ranging from $5M to $15M.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and competitive tender submissions for commercial and industrial projects.
• Undertake first‑principles estimating, material take‑offs, labour calculations and cost assessments.
• Review tender documentation, electrical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and pricing comparisons.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers and senior management to develop commercially viable tenders.
• Identify project risks, cost‑saving opportunities and value‑engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator in the Australian electrical construction industry.
• Proven experience estimating commercial, industrial and residential electrical projects valued between $5M and $15M.
• Strong understanding of Design & Construct (D&C) projects, tender documentation and Australian Electrical Standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
• Commercial acumen in cost planning, supplier negotiations and value engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as ConEst, Simpro or Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards and construction methodologies.
