Electrical Engineer – Transmission Lines (All Levels)

About the role

The Electrical Design Engineer in Aurecon’s Global Design Centre supports the ANZ Energy team in delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable electrical engineering solutions across the project lifecycle, from concept through detailed design and delivery. The role contributes to the transition toward low‑carbon, resilient, future‑ready energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept to detailed design and execution.
• Collaborate with offshore engineering teams to ensure seamless project progression and adherence to quality standards.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and codes, particularly for Australian and New Zealand markets.
• For senior positions, conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering technologies and methodologies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical engineering with a focus on transmission lines.
• Proven experience designing transmission lines rated higher than 132 kV.
• Demonstrable experience working with offshore designers and coordinating across different time zones and cultures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts.
• Familiarity with Australian and New Zealand electrical codes and practices is highly advantageous.
