EL1 Finance & Governance Manager

About the role

A major Australian Government program is recruiting an EL1 Finance and Governance Manager. The team strengthens financial management, governance and assurance arrangements to support effective program delivery and long-term organisational capability. The role sits at the intersection of finance, governance and program delivery, working closely with program managers, finance teams, contractors and corporate stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial management and reporting activities
• Carry out SAP financial reporting, reconciliations and financial administration
• Manage purchase orders, goods receipting, invoices and contract-related financial transactions
• Develop financial procedures, guidance and business processes
• Analyse financial information and improve processes, controls and reporting
• Prepare financial and program reporting for senior executives and governance forums
• Support contract management and financial governance activities
• Contribute to future ERP transition activities and related process improvements

Required profile

• Adaptable finance professional able to operate confidently at EL1 level in a complex program environment
• Ideal candidate has experience across financial management, budgeting, forecasting and/or financial reporting
• Ability to analyse financial processes and implement practical improvements
• Strong stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
• Experience developing procedures, guidance materials and reporting products
• Strong attention to detail, an outcomes-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities independently

Required skills

• SAP or a similar enterprise financial system
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
