EHS Lead - ACT & NSW

About the role

Northrop Grumman Australia is looking for an experienced EHS Lead for ACT & NSW, based in Fairbairn, ACT. The role provides practical leadership, advice and support across safety, health and wellbeing, environment and sustainability, helping embed the company's EHS strategy and build a proactive approach to risk management. It is a hands-on leadership position with travel to other sites about 25% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a small EHS team
• Partner with leaders to identify hazards, manage risks and strengthen EHS practices
• Lead and support incident investigations, audits and improvement initiatives
• Interpret WHS and environmental requirements and support their implementation
• Develop and deliver health and wellbeing initiatives, and support injury management and return-to-work activities
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, government authorities and industry groups
• Support EHS activities across geographically dispersed sites and programs, including travel to the Symonston office once a week and to other ACT and NSW sites monthly

Required profile

• Diploma in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience in health and safety within aviation, manufacturing, mining, construction, energy or a related environment
• Experience in critical risk management, incident investigations and health and wellbeing programs
• Australian citizenship required for the NV1 defence security clearance; ITAR applies
• Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to program sites

Required skills

• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or ISO 9001
• Incident investigation qualification and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
