Education Assistant – Special Needs

About the role

We are building a pool of Education Assistants to support students with special needs across Kindergarten to Year 6. Appointments may be permanent or fixed‑term, full‑time or part‑time, and will be made as vacancies arise during the 2027 school year. The role works under limited supervision, collaborating with teachers and the psychologist in charge to implement behaviour‑management and learning programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom and school‑wide support for students with specific learning difficulties.
• Assist teachers in delivering high‑quality, student‑focused learning activities.
• Maintain records of behaviour‑management plan implementation and evaluate educational outcomes.
• Collaborate with the psychologist and other professionals to adapt programmes to individual needs.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of special education and therapy programmes.

Required profile

• Passion for creating a positive learning environment for all students.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a professional team.
• Effective organisational abilities to support programme delivery and feedback.
• Experience or knowledge of health and physical disabilities in children and adolescents is highly desired.

Required skills

• Understanding of special‑needs education practices.
• Ability to record and analyse student progress data.
