Education and Life Skills Practitioner

About the role

Centacare North Queensland, a not-for-profit organisation providing community services across North Queensland, is looking for an Education and Life Skills Practitioner in Townsville. The role delivers evidence-based education programs that help children, young people, adults and families strengthen their relationships, parenting skills, emotional wellbeing and life skills. It is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging psychoeducational programs for children and adults.
• Deliver evidence-based parenting, personal development and life skills courses.
• Conduct client intake, psychosocial and risk assessments and make referrals where required.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate group programs with colleagues.
• Build relationships with schools, community organisations and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate client records and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience working with children, families and/or community groups.
• Ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice.
• Queensland driver licence, Queensland Blue Card, NDIS worker screening clearance and National Police check (or ability to obtain them).

Required skills

• Excellent communication and group facilitation skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

• SCHADS Level 4 salary starting from $92,286.48 plus superannuation.
